Seasonal - Quality Assurance

Summary Tracks, updates, coordinates production and quality data. Act as a liaison to sales and shipping. Monitors and adjusts product assignments to contract volumes. Reviews quality data and product allocations based on sales needs and pack plan objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assign product to customers in accordance with the pack plan and contract requirements.

• Allocates product to customers based on pack plan requirements and with the approval of the Director of Quality.

• Produces printouts and specifies product to be used by shipping for order fulfillment.

• Maintains pack plan and ensures accuracy of data contained therein

• Monitors shipments of product and notifies Director of Quality of any issues regarding supply, shipping, etc.

Customer documentation

Completes customer questionnaires and returns them in a timely manner

• Receives and uploads customer specifications into Canopy

• Collects and distributes standard documents such as Kosher certificates, audit results, outside testing results

• Provides documents to shipping to support customer, legal, and export requirements.

Sales support

Answers inquiries from Sales as to availability of product.

• Adjusts product assignment based on information provided by sales.

• Collects special instructions for reference; i.e. special labeling instructions, shipping constraints, etc., and maintains customer related files

Quality support

Reviews quality data for accuracy each day during production or as assigned.

• Enters corrected hour data into Canopy and the pack plan spreadsheet

• Collects, maintains and distributes customer quality requirements to the appropriate personnel

• Maintains quality documentation such as the QMS and SQF systems.

• Performs GMP audits during season

• Participates in inventory verification procedures.

• Monitors water project data and compiles reports.

• Maintains the Quality Event Calendar (scheduled audits, visitor schedules, etc.).

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university with the area of study in science or business, and an interest in both disciplines.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business communications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply intermediate mathematical operations as necessary for statistical analysis and writing simple formulas for spreadsheets, etc..

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

The holder of the position will be required to undergo HACCP, GMP, PCQI, SQF and other food safety or regulatory training as needed.
